How Build Grow Scale Works
Every engagement runs the same path: fix what is provably broken, start where the money changes hands, make the data honest — and aim to have the work pay for itself before the first invoice goes out.

ROI before the first invoice.
That is the bar we set for the start of an engagement. Not a strategy deck in month three — money back in the business while the first month is still running.
The reasoning is arithmetic. Ecommerce converts at around 2%, so 98 of every 100 people who raised their hand and came to your store left without buying. Recovering two or three of those 98 is worth more than any increase in ad spend, which is why the first weeks go into the store, not into the traffic.
“Our goal is to have you ROI with us before we actually even send the first invoice.”

What the first weeks actually look like
Six steps, in this order, on every store. The sequence is the point: each one makes the next one trustworthy.
01
Fix what is provably broken
The first two weeks go to the things that are simply not working — a full audit of the site, broken links, and the best-practice items we already know cost stores money. None of it waits on a test result, because you should not be paying for two or three months before you see anything.
02
Start where the money changes hands
A heuristic review runs page by page, from the checkout back to the homepage, writing down every potential issue on the way. Checkout comes first because that is the quickest place to win: lift the homepage while the checkout leaks and none of that work reaches the bank account.
03
Make the data tell the truth
Tracking is audited and repaired before anything is decided on it. Every step after this one is only as good as the numbers underneath it, so the numbers get fixed first rather than argued about later.
04
Ask the people who nearly did not buy
Post-purchase surveys, reviews, customer service enquiries and FAQs, then user testing and session recordings. That is where the biggest leaks on the website show up, and where the surprises come from, because customers rarely leave for the reason the owner assumes.
05
The home base document
Every opportunity is written down, split by mobile and desktop and by area of the site, then turned into a priorities list of what we think will move the needle. We go through it with you before anything ships. It is a collaboration, not a deliverable handed over a wall.
06
Then test, week after week
By roughly week six to eight the data is clean and the best practices are in. From there, every decision week by week comes from what is actually happening on the site: find the leak, hypothesise the fix, test it, keep what wins.
“That first eight weeks is, essentially, getting the mud out of the tires so that they’re not out of balance, washing the windshield so you can see where you’re going. Now the vehicle is driving ready, and we can actually choose where we’re going, and pick the path that we think is going to get us to the result that we want.”
Where the money shows up first
The goal is not for a store to pay for two or three months before it sees anything. These are the moves that usually get there first.
Upsells in week one
Upsells go in during the first week. On their own they typically cover the cost of the work being done, before the end of month one.
The first best-practice pass
That initial run of best practices has produced lifts of 5 to 20% on its own, depending on how broken the store was going in.
One survey, three revenue lines
At Anson Belts a post-purchase survey found customers wanted to mix styles inside one box. Adding that option was worth roughly $250K a year; a further item offered inside the box about $280K; a tested price increase about $300K: money that would not have existed had the survey not been run.
